In this post, we’ll explore three different ways to mix the perfect peach color. Peach is a lovely blend of red, yellow, and white, but the ratios can create endless variations. In the video below, I’ll show you each method step by step, and here in the blog you’ll find extra tips to help you get just the right shade for your painting.
Method One: Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Red, and White
To begin, take lemon yellow, cadmium red, and white. Instead of mixing everything together at once, start by adding a touch of red to white. This allows for better control over the mixed color. Thoroughly blend these two colors until you achieve a pastel shade. Then, gradually add yellow to the mixture, creating the desired peach color. This method provides a range of light and dark peach shades.

Method Two: Scarlet Lake, Yellow, and White
For the second method, incorporate scarlet lake into your palette. Mix white with a touch of scarlet lake to create a pastel pink shade. Ensure the colors are thoroughly blended. Then, add yellow to the mixture, resulting in a different value of peach. This method offers a unique variation of the hue.
Method Three: Crimson Lake, Yellow, and White
The third method involves using crimson lake. Mix white with a touch of crimson lake to obtain a mild pink color. Thoroughly blend these two colors, and then add yellow to the mixture. This will give you another distinct shade of peach.
Exploring the Range of Peach Shades:
Now, let's observe the variations of peach color we've achieved using these different methods. By altering the ratios of red, yellow, and white, you can obtain different values of peach. Lighter shades can be created by adding more white, while darker shades can be achieved by increasing the intensity of red and yellow. The palette of peach colors ranges from light pastel peach to deeper, more vibrant shades

Understanding the Versatility of Peach:
It's important to note that peach color can encompass a wide spectrum, including lighter pastel peaches, deeper orange peaches, pink peaches, and more. By combining white and red, you can produce a variety of orange to pink shades, which can then be further adjusted by adding yellow. Feel free to experiment and find the perfect peach color for your artistic vision.
